I’ll be the very first in my family to gain a college degree, and that’s something I hold really near to my heart.
My family and I relocated to the United States in 2014 We chose Memphis as our 2nd home to start fresh and develop a much better future.
When I graduated secondary school in 2020, I chose to join the Military Reserve so I can function full-time to aid support my household monetarily. Along the way, my moms and dads always reminded me of the relevance of a college level. Truthfully, I struggled with the decision between choosing work over college.
That altered when I found the College of Memphis Global (UofM Global) where I could make my degree 100 % online from a certified, country wide identified Carnegie R 1 college. The flexibility of the program made it possible to stabilize work, life, and education. Once I enlisted, I understood I made the appropriate option.
As an online student, I remained entailed with campus life via profession fairs and joining trainee organizations like the Culture of Personnel Management. I wanted to get one of the most out of my college experience and get in touch with people who shared my enthusiasm for HR.
Last November, I deployed to Kuwait, with a month left of loss semester. Thanks to the support and framework of UofM International, I had the ability to complete solid, also making the Dean’s Listing. I’m taking 4 classes while offering on active duty, and I’m proud to state I’ll be graduating in May.
Having the ability to offer my country, support my family members, and earn my degree means the globe to me. I really feel prepared to tackle whatever comes next.
